
Three people are dead after a house fire in North El Monte early Tuesday morning.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the 5300 block of Tyler Avenue around 1 a.m.
According to the department, the two-story house and attached garage were engulfed in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the fire around 1:30 a.m.
Craig Little with the fire department told KNX News’ Jon Baird there were five people inside the house.
“Two were able to make it out of the house and were medically assessed and transported to a local hospital, and unfortunately, there were three fatalities,” he said.

The three people were found dead at the bottom of the stairs. It was revealed someone went upstairs to alert two people before the three of them tried to get out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire is believed to have started in the garage.
