
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Three men were arrested in connection with a January shooting in Beverly Crest that left three women dead, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Friday.
Daries Stanford, 28, Dontae Williams, 22, and DeJean Thompkins, 28, were all arrested within the past few weeks, police said.
Stanford and Williams were charged with three counts of murder, six counts of attempted murder and six counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, according to the District Attorney's Office. Thompkins was charged with four counts of murder, six counts of attempted murder and six counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Police also said Thompkins is connected to a killing in North Hollywood that happened in December.
Thompkins and Williams were arrested in Chicago and Stanford was arrested in New York. Police said they’re awaiting extradition.
On Jan. 28, Iyana Hutton, 33, Nenah Davis, 29, and Destiny Sims, 26, were shot and killed inside a parked car in the 2700 block of North Ellison Drive around 2:30 a.m. The car was parked outside a residence where a gathering had occurred.
Police said the women were not the intended targets,
“As the homicide investigation continued, detectives compiled and disseminated a crime alert with the information they received from both witnesses and nearby surveillance video,” the department said in a press release. “Detectives discovered that the suspects responsible for the triple homicide were last seen driving a blue 4-door Tesla with damage to the right front fender and no license plates.”
A search warrant was served Mar. 29 to an apartment building in the 8600 block of Wilshire Blvd. but found it was empty. Detectives processed the scene for possible forensic evidence left behind.
