An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 was reported 12 miles south of Ranchos Palos Verdes on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It happened just before 8:30 a.m.

Another listener felt it in Tarzana.

“I was sleeping actually and next thing you know, I just felt a minor jolt, “ he said. “Kind of a rock and roll kind of jolt. It woke me up.”

Jodie from Burbank said she felt “a light vibration.”

“I thought maybe it was a truck rolling by,” she said. “But then I saw these little brass bells that I have hanging from my curtain rod and I saw them swaying and it started to spook me and my immediate thought was, ‘Is there a connection between what was going on in Japan and here?’”

No damages and no injuries were reported.
