Four people were injured in a shooting in East Los Angeles on Sunday night after the World Cup match between Mexico and England.
It happened at 9:30 p.m. at the corner of Whittier Blvd. and Leonard Ave.
Deputy Miesha McClendon with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told KNX News’ Jon Baird that an altercation took place and someone pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots, striking two people. Two bystanders, a woman and a boy, were also struck.
All four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The search is still underway for the suspect.
Whittier Boulevard was closed all night till 5 a.m.
