On Monday, officials with the Pentagon announced that 700 active-duty Marines will be withdrawn from Los Angeles.

This comes nearly a week after 2,000 California National Guard troops were released.

L.A Mayor Karen Bass, who spent the weekend on network news shows urging President Donald Trump to pull the active-duty Marines, spoke with KNX News’ Craig Fiegener as the news hit.
“This was a victory, but we will not stop pushing back,” she told him. “This should not be implemented in any cities in the United States.”
When asked if she thought President Trump saw her on TV over the weekend, Bass said she hopes he heard the “voices of Angelenos.”
It’s estimated that about 2,000 federalized National Guard troops will remain deployed at least for now. The presence of those troops is still in question, as a Newsom legal challenge works its way through the courts
