86% of drivers surveyed admitted to being distracted by technology behind the wheel, including texting, scrolling, or even watching videos. 27% engaged in even stranger activities like changing clothes, shaving, and painting their nails while driving.
“You take your life in your hands when you drive around here,” a woman in Larchmont told KNX News’ Jon Baird.
Ericka, who frequently commutes from Hollywood to downtown L.A., said she’s “not surprised” by the results.
“I see it all the time,” she said. “It's kind of annoying, especially when there's so much traffic and people are distracted by their phones.”
The study also found that L.A., Riverside, Anaheim, and San Diego are among the top cities when it comes to dangerous driving behaviors like rapid acceleration and speeding.
