Los Angeles could be in for a return to drought and record-setting heat this summer, weather experts say.

Southern California’s weather is often affected by El Niño, which leads to cooler and wetter conditions, and La Niña, which does the opposite. But right now, we’re in a neutral weather pattern system, which can lead to both dryer-than-normal weather and elevated temperatures.
According to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, L.A. has a 50% chance of higher than average temperatures through July, and the current semi-drought conditions are expected to continue through the middle of summer.
It might be a good time to think about shifting your garden to drought-resistant plants and checking the performance of your AC unit before summer gets underway.
