(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in Los Angeles said three alleged gang members from Chicago have been charged with the January murders of three Chicago-area women — and one was charged with a fourth murder.

The three were identified as 28-year-old Daries Stanford, 22-year-old Dontae Williams and 28-year-old DeJean Thompkins.

They’ve been charged with multiple counts of murder in the shooting deaths of: 33-year-old Iyana Hutton, 29-year-old Nenah Davis and 26-year-old Destiny Sims.

LAPD Capt. Jonathan Tippett said the women were not the intended targets. The men were allegedly shooting at someone else.

“A group of young adults that had known each other growing up came out to Los Angeles in support of a Chicago rapper," Tippet said. "They rented a vacation rental, and on the night of the incident, while returning home from a night of bowling, an ambush-style attack occurred that left three people dead and four others shot. Two of those were in critical condition but thankfully survived.”

One of the Chicago men, Tompkins, was also charged with the December murder of Chicagoan Julian Bynum, which occurred in North Hollywood.

Police said a Tesla, which the alleged gang members were driving, was part of the investigation.
