An American Airlines flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Dallas made an emergency landing Friday shortly after takeoff.

The plane was en route to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas when an emergency was declared prompting it to return to LAX at around 2 a.m. Friday.
Flight 1445 landed safely and video shows Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting units from the Los Angeles Fire Department responding to the runway.
An LAX spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that a mechanical issue prompted the emergency landing, but the type of emergency was not disclosed.
No injuries were immediately reported aboard the flight. An investigation is underway.
