Amtrak train fatally strikes man in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - An Amtrak train struck and killed a man Wednesday in the North Hollywood area.

Paramedics were sent to the 7100 block of Lankershim Boulevard, just south of Sherman Way, shortly after noon. They pronounced the victim, who was about 25 years old, dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.


No other injuries were reported.

Information was not immediately available on the man's identity.

The train that struck the pedestrian was Amtrak 769, according to Metrolink.
