On Friday animal rights groups marched along Rodeo Drive, calling out several luxury shops for selling fur online and outside of California.
In January 2023, California became the first state to ban the sale and manufacturing of new fur products. Protestors told KNX News’ Karen Adams that retailers along Rodeo Drive, such as Dior, Louis Vitton, and Fendi, are still selling fur products.
One protestor said it’s time for these high-end brands to go fur-free.
“Not just in California but worldwide because these animals on fur farms, they are trapped in tiny wire cages their entire life and they're just immersed in their own urine and feces, separated from their friends and family,” she said. “It's absolutely inhumane and fur farms are also the perfect breeding ground for the next pandemic.”

Another protestor said there are plenty of faux fur products to keep people warm.
Adams reported that shoppers in the area looked on, while some took photos and videos of the protestors. She added some drivers passing by honked in support.
