A 62-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman while posing as a ride-hailing service driver in an unincorporated area near Whittier remained in custody Friday, and authorities urged any possible other victims to come forward.

Adel Aziz Benjamin allegedly posed as a ride-hailing driver on March 26, when a female victim entered his 2011 red Toyota RAV4 with California license plate GB173DP and a "Jesus Light of the World" sticker on the rear tire carrier, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Benjamin was taken into custody Thursday and booked at the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station on suspicion of sexual battery, with bail set at $1 million, according to jail records.
Deputies released a photo of Benjamin in the hope of encouraging potential additional victims to come forward. Benjamin was described as a 5- foot-8-inch-tall man weighing 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
