One person was killed and another injured in an overnight shooting in Banning, and a suspect was taken into custody.

Details of the shooting were limited, but Banning Police Department Lt. Brandon Smith told City News Service the shooting occurred at the intersection of Hargrave and Wilson streets, leaving one young adult male dead and a boy described only as a juvenile in need of medical attention.

BPD personnel were still on the scene shortly before noon investigating the shooting.
