LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Actor/comedian Billy Crystal, best known for films including "When Harry Met Sally..." and "City Slickers," will receive a lifetime achievement honor during the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony, the Critics Choice Association announced today.

Known to younger viewers for lending his voice to the one-eyed monster Mike in Disney/Pixar's "Monsters Inc." and "Monsters University," Crystal's other film credits include "The Princess Bride," "Running Scared," "Analyze This," "Mr. Saturday Night," "Parental Guidance," "Standing Up, Falling Down" and "Throw Momma From the Train."

A veteran of "Saturday Night Live," Crystal got his television start in the classic sitcom "Soap" and more recently starred with Josh Gad in the series "The Comedians."

He directed the HBO movie "61*," has written five books, received a Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and will return to Broadway this year with the musical comedy "Mr. Saturday Night."

Crystal will receive the lifetime achievement honor during the Critics Choice Awards ceremony on March 13 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

He will become only the sixth recipient of the honor, joining Lauren Bacall, Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, Eddie Murphy and Robert Wise.
