YORBA LINDA, Calif. (KNX) — The case of a Black Lives Matter supporter accused of purposely driving through a crowd of counter protesters in Yorba Linda is heading to trial.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Scott Steiner determined there was enough evidence for the attempted murder case against Tatiana Turner of Long Beach to proceed to jury trial, The Orange County Register reported.

Turner is also facing counts of mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon for her alleged involvement in the Sep. 2020 demonstration in the parking lot of the now-closed Yorba Linda Library that turned violent.

Turner was accused by prosecutors of deliberately driving through a crowd, arguing she could have avoided hitting counter-protesters, but her supporters say she acted in self-defense while being surrounded by an angry mob.

Turner had a preliminary hearing prior to this one, which resulted in the same ruling, but the decision was overturned after it was determined that a different judge violated Turner’s constitutional rights by preventing her defense attorney from presenting her own witnesses or arguments, according to the Register.
