Beloved actor and comedian Bob Saget died from a brain bleed after hitting his head, according to TMZ.
Saget was found dead by hotel security at around 4 p.m. in a Ritz Carlton Hotel in Orlando, FL on Jan. 9. He had preformed at a comedy club in Jacksonville before driving to the hotel in Orlando, where he arrived just before 2 a.m.
Authorities aren't sure what Saget hit his head on, but said there was a bruise on the back of his head. They believe that he did not know the severity of the injury at the time and then went to bed.
Authorities had originally thought that Saget died from a heart attack or stroke, but the autopsy revealed otherwise.
TMZ reports that the toxicology report came back clean, as there were no narcotics or alcohol in his system.
Saget's family provided a statement on his death that was obtained by TMZ:
"Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities' investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us. The authorities have determined that Bob passed away from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."
"As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter."
