On Jan. 1, California State Parks will be offering more than 70 guided hikes.
It’s part of the First Day Hikes event. Jorge Moreno, a spokesperson for California State Parks, told KNX News’ Margaret Carrero that First Day Hikes is a nationally-led effort with all state parks.
“It is basically encouraging individuals and families to go out and experience the outdoors,” he said.
He added that the hikes will happened throughout different parts of the day.
“Some of them are early in the morning, some of them are later in the afternoon,” he said.
One of the hikes residents in L.A. County can do is a three-mile roundtrip hike at Malibu Creek State Park.
