The planned changes would impact a stretch of PCH from the Ventura County line to the McClure Tunnel in Santa Monica. The goal is to create what Caltrans calls a “complete street” with enhanced safety and mobility for all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and public transit riders.
The public will have 60 days to offer comments on the plans. After Wednesday night’s meeting at Malibu City Hall, two virtual workshops will be held on April 16 and May 12.
The construction is expected to begin in 2026 and is set for completion in 2029. The total cost is estimated at close to $115 million.
