The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on a change to county law that would go after people who promote street racing and takeovers on social media.
The proposal would ask social media companies to remove content promoting street racing and demonetize the accounts that post them. It’s unclear how the county plans to enforce the law if it passes.
When asked if social media platforms will comply with the county’s directive, Supervisor Kathryn Barger told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener, “I seriously doubt it.”
“But I do think it's important for them to monitor illegal activity, and they have a responsibility to flag that,” she added.

The law would also double the fine for street racing to $1,000.
