Fire crews are battling a brush fire burning near Lake Piru in Ventura County, prompting evacuation orders and warnings.
The fire started around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Cal Fire. It grew to 600-acres just after 3 p.m. As of 5pm, it burned 1,052 acres.
According to VC Emergency, evacuation orders were issued for the Lake Piru Recreation Area and east to the Los Angeles County line, south to SR 126, and west to Center Street. Warnings were issued northwest of Lake Piru and northeast of the Evacuation Order to the Los Angeles County line.
Fire crews from Ventura and Los Angeles counties responded to the fire, with help from Angeles National Forest personnel, CNS reported.

Piru Canyon Road is closed at Main Street, and the Lake Piru Recreation Area is closed due to the fire.
