CHP recovers 35 stolen luxury cars valued at $2.3 million on San Fernando Valley lot

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Detectives with the California Highway Patrol seized 35 luxury cars alleged to be stolen from Southern California dealerships, officials announced Sunday.

The vehicles — a collection of Aston Martins, Bentleys, BMWs, Jaguars, Land Rovers, and Porsches estimated to be collectivel valued at $2.3 million — were found on a lot in the San Fernando Valley last week. CHP has declined to publicly detail the exact location.

CHP recovered the cars after what was described as a two-month investigation. Investigators said the suspect “fraudulenetly purchased” the cars from “unsuspecting local dealerships.” The agency did not elaborate as to how the allegedly fraudulent purchases were made, nor where the targeted dealerships were located.

An unidentified suspect has been arrested in connection with the alleged thefts, CHP said. Detectives said they also seized a firearm and about 400 canabis plants from the suspect’s residence.
