A college student is in critical condition after she was attacked inside her apartment in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
It happened 1200 block of Hill St. around 10 p.m.
Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times the 21-year-old USC student had a head injury and trauma.
The outlet also reported she was found unresponsive by a family member who went over to the apartment because the young woman’s parents were unable to reach her.

The victim reportedly lived on the first floor. A resident who lives in the building told KNX News’ Jon Baird that people who live on the first floor could be vulnerable to a break-in from the sidewalk.
“I'm guessing there's apartments that face the street. So if someone…let's say the person wanted to break in the first floor, they could probably do it through one of those apartments through the street door,” he said. “But to get into the building itself, someone had to let that person in. You can't go in the building unless someone lets you in. So it's someone [that] let that person in unless the girl already knew the guy or she let him in.”
Police have not said if there were signs of forced entry, KNX News’ Jon Baird reported. He also reported that several bags of evidence were removed from the apartment and that authorities are checking surveillance cameras for possible clues for any suspects.
Anyone with any information was urged to contact the LAPD.
