At Rock & Brews in El Segundo, patrons cheered on their hometown boys and celebrated their big victory.

“Oh, I feel so happy for them,” one man told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “I feel happy for America. I feel happy for El Segundo. You know what? It was amazing. I never had any doubt that they would do it. I'm so happy for them. Louis Lappe, you’re a star!”

One woman said her five-year-old son predicted the team’s big win.

“He said he's going to get struck out and Louis is going to hit a home run right now and he did,” she said.

One of their classmates said the boys are going to be big celebrities when they go back to school.

“I'm excited for when school starts again because they're gonna be praised so much by everyone and everyone's going to be so happy for them,” she said.

The boys even got a shout-out from First Lady Jill Biden on Twitter.

“Congratulations El Segundo Little League, are so proud of you!” she wrote.

A homecoming will be held for the boys on Main Street Monday at 3:30 P.M.

A celebration parade will be held for the team on Sunday, September 10.
