The People Mover that was supposed to finish two years ago remains unused and has landed the contractor and the city of Los Angeles in court to figure out who is responsible for the delays.
The $3 billion electric train missed its goal of operating in time for the World Cup, alongside other missed completion dates over the course of two years.
The train is meant to deliver passengers to and from the airport and metro stations. The People Mover was tested before the World Cup, moving around the 2.5-mile track without passengers.
Mayor Karen Bass has described the People Mover as part of an overall LAX experience, an airport that will be a world-class travel experience.
