A husband and wife were murdered in their Azusa home on Saturday, and police are eyeing their adult son as a suspect.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, around 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, the son came out of the family’s well-manicured home on Twin Tree Ave. covered in blood. Inside, police found his parents, whose names haven’t been released, stabbed to death.
The son was also critically injured with multiple stab wounds and was taken to the hospital after initially being detained by deputies.
People who knew the couple told KNX News’ Emily Valdez they were shocked by the news.
“It’s unreal,” said Gary, a family friend who came by to leave flowers at the door. “Who would ever consider anything like this? It's nuts.”

Investigators said they’re still trying to piece together exactly what happened. Neighbors described the man and woman as a hard-working couple who were having ongoing problems with their troubled son.
