LANCASTER (CNS) - A man allegedly armed with a machete was shot and killed by deputies Tuesday at an Albertsons in Lancaster, according to reports from the scene.

"The male adult suspect was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead," the sheriff's department said in a statement. "There is no additional information available at this time."
Information on the man's identity was not immediately available.
According to reports from the scene, the man was armed with a machete, and was shot by deputies after they tried to use less-lethal methods to take him into custody.
