Dodgers defeat Padres, advance to NLCS vs. NY Mets!

The Los Angeles Dodgers have defeated the San Diego Padres 2-0 in a win-or-go-home game 5 of the National League Division Series.

They are now setting their sights on the New York Mets for a best-of-seven National League Championship Series.

KNX News’ Jon Baird was live in the stadium for the first pitch at 5 p.m. and reported that the game remained scoreless until the bottom of the second when Enrique 'Kiké' Hernández hit his 14th career postseason home run.

After a quiet five innings, Teoscar Hernández hit his second homer of this postseason, bringing the Dogers lead to two at the bottom of the seventh.

The Dodgers were able to keep the Padres at zero, ending the game at the top of the ninth with the final three outs.

The Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday to clinch their spot in the NLCS thanks to a Francisco Lindor grand slam in the sixth inning, giving his team the 4-1 victory.

The Dodgers-Mets series is set for Sun, Oct 13, 2024 – Mon, Oct 21, 2024, with game 1 set to start at 5:15 PM PT in Los Angeles.
