The Dodgers are on the brink of a world championship after their 4-2 victory over the Yankees on Monday night.
Walker Buehler pitched five scoreless innings and Freddie Freeman hit a two-run home run in the first inning, City News Service reported.
The last time the Dodgers won the World Series was in 2020.

One fan told KNX News’ Jon Baird he thinks the team is gonna win Tuesday night’s game.
“We're gonna get the sweep,” he said. "I got my broom at home. I'm gonna make sure I get it out."
“I think [the team’s chances of winning] looks excellent,” another fan said. “I'm excited. If not tonight, tomorrow night.”
Reporter Glenn Schuck, who is also a lifelong Yankees fan, told KNX News he’s ready for the series to be over with.
“I’m almost at the point just to get it over with,” he said. “I'm hearing that there's maybe a bullpen game from the Dodgers and we have Luis Gil, who has been a great pitcher for the Yankees. But the Yankees, they just have no life, no hitting, no offense.
They just seem really flat like they almost want to have it over with too. It's really disappointing.”
Should the Dodgers win Tuesday night or Wednesday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department urged fans to celebrate responsibly.
“Please remember that disruptive or illegal behavior is not acceptable. Our deputies will be in full force to maintain order and protect public safety. We appreciate your cooperation,” a post by the department on X read.
Tuesday night’s game will begin at 5:08 p.m. on Fox.
