Dodgers fans gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Friday morning in anticipation of the team’s World Series victory parade.

The parade, set to begin at 11 a.m., will kick off at Gloria Molina Grand Park. Following a speech by Mayor Karen Bass, the parade will go south on Spring Street, then west on First Street, south on Grand Avenue, and west on Fifth Street before ending in the area of Fifth and Flower streets.

Fans who gathered along the parade route spoke with KNX News’ Craig Fiegener and Jon Baird about what this parade and the Dodgers’ win meant to them.

“It's historic,” a fan named Janine told Feiegener. “I haven't seen a World Series since the 2020. We didn't get a parade back then. So this is very important for our city, for the community, and for the fans and for the players.”

Another fan told Baird she’s been a Dodger fan her entire life.

“I grew up a Dodger fan since my mom was pregnant with me. My dad used to take my older sister to games, so I've been a Dodger fan since the womb,” she said. “I couldn't miss it. It's a chance of a lifetime.”

Frank Ramirez, a fan who traveled from Palmdale, said it was a memory he wanted to share with his boys.

“We had[the] ‘88 World Series parade. I was too young to come to that and we finally got another one in 2024 where we can have the parade,” he said. “So I want to build memories with them so they can continue to the Dodger legacy. We’re fans from the moment we were born to the day we die.”

Another fan said she grew up a Dodgers while living on the East Coast.

“The lifelong dream, I came out here for school and stayed for the Dodgers,” she said. “[I] had to be here.”

One man told Baird he had tickets for Game Six.

“But this is the next best thing,” he said.
