Passenger arrested, driver at large after Panorama City pursuit

A  stolen car suspect is in custody and police Thursday are continuing their search for the driver who led officers on a high- speed chase that ended in Panorama City.

Law enforcement helicopters were observing a stolen Honda Accord on Nordhoff Street in North Hills around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, KCAL9 reported. The driver then entered the San Diego (405) Freeway, driving recklessly and at speeds of over 100 mph, according to KCAL9.

The chase continued through Northridge, when the driver exited the freeway and weaved past other drivers on streets as he tried to avoid police.

The pursuit ended when the driver and the passenger ditched the Honda at Brimfield Avenue and Community Street in Panorama City, KCAL9 reported. The male driver of the stolen Honda Accord jumped a fence at a residence and ran away, avoiding officers and is still on the loose.

The second suspect, a woman, was taken into custody near Roscoe Boulevard.
