One person was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles.
The vehicle was reported to have slammed into several parked cars just after 7 a.m. on Vernon Avenue near McKinley Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Kevin Terzes.

Firefighters responded but could not save the driver, Terzes said.
No information was available regarding the driver's age or gender.
The crash and investigation closed Vernon between McKinley and Wadsworth Avenue, according to reports from the scene.
