As rain continues to drench Southern California, an evacuation warning was issued for seven streets in Culver City on Tuesday.
The impacted area, known as the Upper Crest, saw 7-8 inches of rain. KNX News’ Pete Demetriou reported that people are being told to be ready to move if debris or mud flows surge.
He spoke to Jenna Siden, who was taking her shepherd Puga out for a walk, about the warnings.
“It means be prepared for them to notify us if we do have an evacuation order, which is a mandatory leave the neighborhood,” she said. “So we've been prepared. We have a to-go bag ready to leave and have some friends or regions to go to if we do indeed get that warning.”
Siden said he’s seen a lot of water and the drains have been overflowing at her home. She said she’s cleaned them out from lots of debris. Siden said her neighbors have been relatively safe, from what she knows.

There have been at least three homes that have had evidence of mudflows behind them. Public works crews are evaluating the stability throughout the day in Culver City. With the rain almost gone, a more complete assessment of damage will be possible.
So far, there has been no indication that any homes may be yellow or red-tagged.
The evacuation warning will be in effect for through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
