LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 48-year-old man shot to death in South Los Angeles was publicly identified Friday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of West 104th Place, between Vermont Avenue and Hoover Street, around 3:55 p.m. Thursday to conduct a homicide investigation, the department reported.

Derris Hurth was discovered dead at the scene, according to coroner records. His city of residence was not provided.
There was no suspect description immediately available.
