LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Fire crews battled a blaze at a two-story apartment building in Hyde Park early Friday morning that displaced at least five residents.

The fire was reported at 3:38 a.m. at 2319 W. 54th St., where officials said they found flames had spread from one unit into the floor, wall, and attic spaces of the building, as well as to an adjacent building.

It took 40 firefighters a little more than an hour to extinguish the flames, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
