Los Angeles Fire Department fire crews responded at approximately 5:15 a.m. to 14934 W. Cobalt St. to reports of a fire in one unit of the duplex, said LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.
About 35 firefighters were deployed and they put the fire out in 12 minutes, but two people -- a 31-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman -- were taken to a hospital trauma/burn unit, Middleton said.
A third person, a 32-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital, she said.
There were no injuries to firefighters.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
