A two-story attic fire at a fourplex in the Vermont Square area of South Los Angeles was quickly extinguished Thursday with no reports of injuries.
Thirty firefighters responded around 3:20 p.m. to the fire in the 600 block of West 53rd Street and extinguished the flames within 21 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It was unclear what sparked the fire, and the cause was under investigation.
