A fire damaged a 5,000-square-foot commercial building in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles Monday morning.
The fire was reported at about 2 a.m. in a single-story building at 13817 W. Ventura Blvd., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department's Margaret Stewart.

When firefighters arrived at 2:07 a.m., they found an outside fire had spread into the rear of the metal clad building , Stewart said.
"A knockdown was achieved in 31 minutes with no injuries reported," she said.
