An explosion and fire damaged a commercial building in the Irwindale area Monday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters were sent to the 1400 block of East Arrow Highway, near Live Oak Lane, about 10:35 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Arriving firefighters found flames burning through the roof of the single-story warehouse and called for a second-alarm assignment of additional personnel to be sent to the area, the county fire department reported.
The flames were extinguished about noon, the county fire department reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Video from the scene showed flames and smoke shooting through the roof, and crews worked to keep the flames from spreading to other units in the building.
Arrow Highway was closed between Rivergrade Road and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway as a precaution, according to the Irwindale Police Department.
"There is no threat to the community," police said in a statement about noon. "However, the surrounding streets are closed, so please avoid the area."
