Firefighters are investigating what caused two different school fires- one in Sherman Oaks and another in North Hollywood.
The first one started Thursday night around 9:30 at Notre Dame High School, "With fire showing on the roof of the second floor," David Ortiz with L.A. City Fire told KNX News.

He said it turned out to be a surface fire, which was quickly extinguished within 10 minutes.
Ortiz says the second fire started about two hours later at nearby Oakwood School. Firefighters found white smoke coming from the wall of a building. That was quickly put out too.

He says there's no indication that the two fires are.
