The Gardena Police Department is offering stickers that will help notify law enforcement if they are speaking with someone who has special needs.

The stickers are free to the public and are recommended to be put on the front doors of houses or car windows, according to the department.

“The goal of this sticker is to assist us with those calls for service involving anyone who has them and we ask for your partnership in identifying your loved one’s special needs beforehand,” the department wrote on Facebook.

In addition, officers receive annual training on how to interact with those who have special needs.

The public can get these stickers at the Gardena Police Department lobby at 1718 W. 162nd Street or through District Lieutenants.
