Gas prices in Los Angeles County inched up for the eighth straight day in a row.
The 13-cent increase has brought the average price of regular gas in the county to $4.61.
KNX News’ Jon Baird spoke with drivers at several stations about the price increase. One driver named Raul said he’s always searching for lower prices.
“Right now, I just put like $40 because I have to go to another gas station where it's cheaper,” he said. “I know where it is, but I'm out of the way, so I'm just waiting to go there to get cheaper gas.”
While the increase comes just days before the Labor Day weekend, oil industry analysts and Auto Club officials believe prices will start to ease up after the holiday weekend and again when the cheaper winter blend comes on November 1st.

Oil industry consultant Andrew Liphow told Baird we could see a price spike when California loses a couple of refineries, but it won’t be as bad as people think.
“Well, I think that there will be an increase in price, but I don't believe that Californians are going to be seeing $6 and $8 per gallon,” he said. “ I think that increase is only about 50 cents a gallon.”
