KNX News is projecting that incumbent George Gascón and Nathan Hochman, a former U.S. assistant attorney general, will advance to the runoff election for Los Angeles County District Attorney.
As of Sunday, Gascón had 24% of the votes while Hochman had 16.6% of the votes.
Gascón spoke with KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian Tuesday night about the accusations that he’s soft on crime.
“Fearmongering has worked for years, and there has not been a shortage of fearmongering during this campaign,” he said
Hochman, however, told KNX News’ Pete Demetriou he is ready to debate Gascón anytime, anywhere.
“I will debate George Gascón as often as possible,” he said. “If he wants to hide, I’ll go to his kitchen on a Saturday night. I’ll debate him in his kitchen because George Gascón can’t hide anymore. We’re gonna put his policies on trial. We’re gonna present them to jurors, that being the voters. And they are gonna vote him out of office come November 5th.”
He added that his strongest weapons in the fight will be the victims that he said have suffered because of Gascón’s policies.
Jonathan Hatami finished in third place followed by Debra Archuleta and Jeff Chemerinsky.
