Over the weekend, Glendale firefighters rescued a kitten that was stuck in the engine of a car.
Glendale firefighter-paramedic Eric Briggs told KNX News’ Emily Valdez that the car that the kitten was stuck in was parked at the Glendale Galleria.
“Someone who was walking by heard the kitten mewing and told the drivers or the owners when they got back that they thought there was a cat in there,” he said.
When firefighters responded, they found the kitten crawling around the engine compartment.
“We kept trying to coax him out with food..and then we would use the different tools to kind of, you know, gently push him around where we can grab him and then, eventually, he kind of popped his head up,” Briggs said.

Firefighters were able to get the kitten out safely. While it’s unclear how the kitten got there, he was able to quickly find a forever home.
“That passerby ended up like ’’oh, actually, if you guys don't want him, I have a cat at home,’” Briggs said. “So he ended up taking the cat home.”
