Google representatives came to Pasadena High School on Wednesday to announce a $3 million grant to help students impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires.

The grant includes gifting 3,000 Chromebooks to replace the ones students lost in the fires.

“It’s so critical,” Google’s Adam Stewart told KNX News’ Karen Adams. “I know because I personally left my house during the fire, so much gets left behind. And so being able to have that technology that allows students to do their schoolwork, allows them to connect with others, is so critically important.”

Stewart said that in the fall, Google will work with DonorsChoice.org to make sure teachers get the supplies they need in the classroom.

The grant is part of Google's $15 million contribution to help L.A. County recover from the fires.
