LOS ANGELES (KNX)– A nonprofit called Grow Good is growin' a lot of good stuff right now.
Everything from zucchini and cucumbers to peppers and cherry tomatoes-anything healthy to feed the 500 people that call the Bell Homeless Shelter home. Farm Manager Francis River says the team is "...basically feeding every day and harvesting every week."

While the food is a significant benefit to the Salvation Army's Bell Homeless Shelter residents, Grow Good co-founder Brad Prigerson says the nonprofit was created to also, "offer a learning and working environment" for the hundreds of residents. He says, "Our mission is to use urban farming as a platform to create community and provide food and opportunities for shelter residents."

The shelter is located in Bel, a part of Los Angeles County known to be very industrial, hence - the 'urban' in 'urban farming.' So, Brad sees Grow Good as an oasis for those in need, while providing job skills training and nutritious food.
