Another round of gusty winds whipped through much of Southern California on Tuesday, with forecasters warning of slightly elevated wildfire conditions due to falling humidity levels.
According to the National Weather Service, winds gusted between 35 and 55 mph in parts of Southern California Tuesday morning, with some of the strongest winds blowing in the Santa Monica Mountains and the Golden State (5) Freeway corridor.

"Gusty north to northeast winds of 20 to 40 mph will likely persist (Tuesday night) into Wednesday morning, further diminishing Wednesday afternoon," according to the NWS. "The combination of gusty north to northeast winds, low humidities, and dry fuels will lead to elevated to brief critical fire weather conditions (Tuesday) into early Wednesday."
Forecasters said humidity levels were expected to fall as low as 12% to 25% by Tuesday evening.
Temperatures were expected to be about 5 degrees below normal Tuesday, then warming on Wednesday before falling again Thursday when a low-pressure system and cold front make their way into the area, giving us a chance of some rain and even snow at some lower elevations by Thursday night into Thursday.
Another round of Santa Ana winds could also impact the region beginning on Tuesday of next week, according to the NWS.
