Police convinced the suspect to drop the child off at a known daycare center in Van Nuys, where the child had previously been cared for.
Unbeknownst to the suspect, LAPD officers set up a steak out at the daycare center and once police had confirmation that the child was safely inside, the man's car was blocked in place.
He surrendered without force shortly after 2:00 PM on Friday.
The man, whose identity is being withheld while the investigation continues, faces multiple charges, including domestic violence and child abduction.
