
A 3-year-old colt with six career races and one victory has died after suffering a training injury at Los Alamitos Race Course, state horse racing officials reported.
Pour Dompter died Thursday, according to the California Horse Racing Board. No further information was available about his death, which was listed as "non-musculoskeletal" on the CHRB's website.
Pour Dompter was bred in France and raced there five times before finishing eighth in his most recent race at Santa Anita on Oct. 8, 2023, according to the industry website Equibase.

He is the fifth horse to die from a racing or training injury at the Cypress track this year.
Los Alamitos saw 13 horses die from racing or training injuries in 2023.
