Dodgers fans lined up early before Wednesday night’s game to snag Shohei Ohtani’s first MVP bobblehead of the season.
The bobblehead honoring Ohtani as last year’s MVP brought out droves of fans on Wednesday morning, some of whom even brought lawn chairs. One man told KNX News’ Karen Adams he took a day off to get a bobblehead – but not because he loves Ohtani.
“I'm not so much like a fan,” he said. “I'm gonna flip mine. I'm here for the money.”
He said he expects the bobblehead to go for around $300 on the resale market. Last year’s golden bobblehead featuring Ohtani with his dog Decoy was resold for up to $6,000.
Another young man said he skipped school to claim his place in line.
“We got here out at 8 and my parents don't know,” he said. “For me, Ohtani is like, important. I've been following him since 2017 with the Angels. I remember I cried the first time he rejected the offer from the Dodgers.”

While the bobbleheads were initially reserved for the first 40,000 fans through the gates, the Dodgers announced Wednesday afternoon that all fans in attendance will get one.
