The war in Iran will have an impact ongas prices in Southern California.

Oil industry analyst Tom Kloza told KNX News’ Jon Baird that California could see an increase of  10 to 15 cents per gallon,  and that the spike in the price of diesel fuel is going to hurt, too.

“I think anything that moves that has freight charges assigned to it is going to pop here in the next, you know, in the month of March, let's say,” he said.

He added that since some refineries have already closed in the state, there’s not much of a margin of error because if another refinery has a problem, that could really cause a price spike.

“There are going to be refinery issues, and you're going to climb every time that happens in 2026 and through the rest of the decade,” he said. “

He added that the longer the fighting in the Middle East drags on, the more likely it is that we will see prices climb even higher.
